It was like a blink of my eye
that i had turned 16..
So fast, too fast, i didnt like it at all..
growing up may be fun..
but (grow-up)ed isnt fun...
life is so stressful, so tiring..

2007 / ('09/'10) / fEbrUAry cAmp
This day of my life, i went for another camp, which is one of another memorable days in my life. I knew i cant rmb things for too long, so i decided to type it all down and i should be able to rmb them. It all began.....
'09, Morning..
I went to school just as usual but this time, the bag I carried contained my items for camping. Initially, I didnt think that the camp would be fun, but I still decided to go because I see camping as a for of escape from the str3ssful urban life...
The morning was boring. We did the usual stuff and went to our classroom. We discuss about our campfire performance and did a survey in one hour.. After which we proceed to the hall.
*** Something happened in the class and I want to apologize to my classmate Xue Hua for raising my voice at her. I don wanna talk about that misunderstanding here...***
At the hall, we spend two boring hours listening to talks... After which we had a 45 min break from 11-11.45. We ate, and then carried our stuff down to the void deck. by twelve++, we were ready to go.
'09, Afternoon..
We went to the Changi Campsite by bus. And i think that I slept during the journey there. I woke up just as we reached the campsite and was greeted by the bright sun, blue sea, and white sands.. Soon, we were ask to get off and headed to the lower level of some bunk and seated there, waiting for instruction..
After we were all gathered, we waited for the campchief, aka ' Boss' to declare the camp open and start with his briefing. It ended pretty much quickly. Our group leader then took over by introducing themselves to us. We had a firefighter named Marvin and another guy Haz'Lan' we called by the name "Lan".. They directed us to our bunk and then told us to change into our wet attire. We will be havin inflatable rafting as our first activity!! Woah!! that would be fun!!
After sometime, we were all set and ready to go. Firstly, we were directed to the boatyard where we had a short briefing. Then we were divided into two groups each has a mixture of both swimmers and non-swimmers. We then choose our (Personal-Floatation-Device) PFD, wore it and went into the sea for a confidence test without the raft which we had already carried to the shoreline. After that, we carried the raft into shallow waters and get into it slowly one after another. By then, we were all set and ready to go. The whole thing didnt lasted as long as i wanted, but it was fun. We did some paddling, capsize drill, re-entry of the raft from the sea, and paddled back.. That was about it.
'09, Late afternoon ~ Evening
This was the most boring part of the whole camp. And we missed an activity, Problems solving.
For this part of the day, we were mainly coming up with a performance for the camp which was then restricted to a dance.. =(( so much for discussing the whole morning. But the worst part was, we didnt manage to come up with anything. We were short on time because our sea activity ended late, and we were rushed to dinner because we had to do serving and keeping the order of the cleaning area. We ate quickly, and went straight to the cleaning area. We didnt do serving because our instructor covered up for us.. =)) i want to thank them here for helping us.. Back at the cleaning area, we were split into half. Half of us were keeping the order of the cleaning area while the other half discussed about the items. I was with first group but i was slacking. I came up with our group cheer while we were doing our duty. Yeah!! That lessen the load of others.. How happie i was to be of some help. I then proceed to the latter group and taught them the cheer and went back to duty. After it ended, we were taught the dance and went through the whole thing only a few times. I was thinking ' wad'e hell, how're we gonna perform liddat?' But that didnt stop our team sprit, we gave our best and i think it came out nice, at least better than wad i thought. Hahaz.. The campfire was everything the camp is about, is was so fun we really enjoyed ourselves.. =)) And there was the 'gay' entertainer "SaSa" who brought the mood of the campfire to the peak. It all ended well.. We had our supper, which was some bread, and i ate about 3, i think.. =p.. We had our day debrief during that period of time.. After which we had our sleep..
09' Night ~ Midnight ~ '10 Morning
The part of the camp which i hated most. I went back to the bunk only to discovered that some malay guys form sec 5 pushed my bags away and replaced it with theirs. 'wad'e hell', was the first thought that came into mind. But i didnt wanted to argue so i took my stuff and found another sleeping spot. At least i could get some rest. I think i slept through the night and only awoken at some time to find that it was noisy.. From wad i heard and went through, this was wad happened::
12-1, ppl was still not sleeping, i was trying to get some rest and fall asleep. The instructor came up and shouted at us.
1-2, malays guys from sec 5 didnt sleep, but instead were playing their guitar and make a lot of noise. I was sleeping.
4-5, some bunch of idiots woke up this early just to bath. I woke up. But went to sleep later on.
5.30-6, i eventually woke up and was chatting the others.
6- 6.30, We brushed our teeth and prepared for the days activity...
'10 Morning ~ Mid afternoon.
We had our breakfast, which was the most 'delicious' meal through out the whole camp. However, i was grateful enough that there was food for us. After that, we proceed to area cleaning where we were told to pick up litters from the boatyard. When we were finished, we sit down somewhere and talk about some stupid stuff. When time was up, we proceed to our next activity. Rock wall and abseiling. We were given a briefing, and then split into two groups. I was in the abseiling. It ended quite fast for me. And i was at the bottom for most of the time cheering for the others. I didnt know if it would help, but i decided that they would need our moral support. =))
Time passed by and soon it was time for our next activity. High elements!! I wasnt scared of height but many of us were. So, we were cheering for each other most of the time. I was the second from my group to do the high elements. It went well and i soon i was at the bottom helping the others with the safety team. We were havin fun not letting them come down to the bottom. But we werent that cruel, we didnt hang them in mid-airs, we let their feet touch the ground a bit and then hang then. They could touch the ground but couldnt land. That was FUN!!
I knew those from my group had fun but i didnt know wad was happening at the other group. =(
But nvm, we had a mass debrief afterwards and the instructors told us the importance of this station and the learning point. We had fun after all..
The third activity was the General Stations, we were yet again split into half. I was with Marvin group and we altogether did two stations. The Spider web and Single log. The web required us to get into the inside of it, helping one another and not touching the web. We did cheated, but only on a few occasion. With the help of everyone, we managed to get everyone in. =)) We then had a short debrief before going to the single log, which sadly, we didnt manage to complete. It was sad. But after that we were directed to the canteen where we drink up.
'10 Afternoon
By the time these three activity ended, it was time for lunch. We ate quickly and soon, we were ready for out last activity. Sea Rafting. As we were the last group, we had less time to work on our raft. Partly because we were in charge of cleaning the equipments later and had to put them back into place. partly because the others and i was slow on teaching the knots and lashing. but nevertheless, we worked well together and build our 4/9 raft!! We even got Mrs tan near to the raft and Lan sprayed her with the water hose. Wad a day!! We really had fun but as the end draw nearer, our mood swayed. I was starting to get a bit sad.
'10 Late Afternoon
After we had cleaned the equipments, put them back in place, we were sent to our bunks and were told to pack our stuff. After which we had to bring all our bags down. We were inform that we were scheduled to toilet cleaning. I had already half expected it, because it was usually the toilet that i had to clean. But cleaning the toilet was an advantage for us, because we can wash ourselves as we wash the toilets. We had so much fun cleaning the toilets we didnt wanna get out. But all good things end quickly. After toilet cleaning, we changed into dry clothing and prepared to get home. We did a survey and spent quite a lot of time tabulating the result. We exchanged last words with the instructors. i felt like crying.. Sniff sniff, it was ending.. After that, we got back to the lower level of the bunk we had gathered on the first day. We then presented our card for the teacher and presented another two card for the two instructors which most of us had sign on. The camp was declared closed and one by one, the classes get into their bus and headed for school. We were the last bus which was not early. We cant say it was late because it arrived at six, the time it was scheduled to come. But i think that it gave us a good opportunity to chat more with our instructor, and took some photos.. Memories to take away before we turn away and never look back...
On the journey back, many were too tired and fall asleep. I was however to sleep. I kept think about the camp. So I had a chat with Shao Quan and Daniel who was either woken up by me or was also unable to sleep. When we reached, we got off and I had dinner with ShaoQuan, JiaJun & David. We saw Pei jie and her family... That was all the adventure i had... And i really hope that i could have more of such opportunities..
At eleven pm, I send some msg to most of the people in my contacts. I'm sorry for those who didnt receive, its either i didnt have your contact, or the sending failed. Sorry.. I will missed you guys too.. Thats what i told the rest =P, ((=
